In 2024, a new rule was passed that allows people who receive Deferred Action for Childhood Arrivals (DACA) to get a private health plan and financial help through Maryland Health Connection.
If you are a DACA recipient living in Maryland, you will be eligible for financial help, known as advanced premium tax credits and cost-sharing subsidies that will lower the cost of plans. In Maryland, a single person making about 45,000 / year, can get a health plan for as low as $2/month.

These individuals, often referred to as "Dreamers," have grown up in the U.S., attended American schools, and contributed to their communities in various ways.
